Celebrate the Ladies in Your Life with Galentines Day!
Much like the pseudo-holiday Festivus, featured on the television show Seinfeld, Galentine's day is featured by the show Parks and Recreation. Celebrated every February the 13th, (although I have personally celebrated with my gals on the 15th), Galentine's day is a way to honor the wonderful women in your life and leave the men at home. Here is Leslie Knope, the creator of the holiday to tell you all about it:
Galentine's day has been picking up more steam since it's introduction in 2010. Some have embraced it as a perfect time to celebrate friend-love during a week dedicated to romance. Others see this as a made up holiday that has been picked up by businesses in order to make even more money in February.
No matter how you look at it you have to admit, there are some pretty perfect items dedicated to Galentine's day at places like Etsy.
You could also treat a friend to a new fan-cooled pillow if that's her kind of thing too!
And don't forget, while treating everyone else, you need love too!
